In 2026, we’ve secured a private departure to explore the Red Centre & Uluru, exclusively for Ladies Who Travel members.
Guided by experienced locals and hosted by Ladies Who Travel Founder Melissa Delaware, you’ll be looked after at every step to ensure a seamless, inspiring experience in this extraordinary part of the country.
You can expect:
- Breathtaking desert landscapes,
- Unforgettable Uluru sunsets,
- Ancient stories of culture and connection,
- Delicious meals shared under star-filled skies,
- And warm Aussie hospitality all the way through.

For those wanting to go even deeper, an optional Kakadu Extension adds a whole new layer of discovery — lush wetlands, Indigenous rock art, wildlife and waterholes that bring the Top End to life.

Trip highlights
Experience the ever-changing colours of Uluru, watching the sacred monolith glow at sunset and walking around its base at sunrise to appreciate its spiritual significance.
Journey through the striking domes of Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) with your local leader, uncovering the ancient stories and geology that shape this remarkable landscape.
Spend a full day exploring Tjoritja (West MacDonnell Ranges) — from the vast Gosse Bluff (Tnorala) crater to panoramic views along the Ghost Gum Trail overlooking Ormiston Gorge.
Take in the breathtaking views on the Kings Canyon Rim Walk, crossing sandstone domes, red cliffs and the lush oasis of the Garden of Eden.
Relax at an exclusive glamping camp in Finke River National Park, featuring air-conditioned tents with ensuite bathrooms — the perfect blend of comfort and outback adventure.
Trip Notes
Travel Days:
This trip includes early starts and some long driving days through remote parts of Australia — a chance to sit back and enjoy incredible outback scenery.
Space on the vehicle may be limited, but it’s all part of the adventure and a great way to connect with fellow travellers. The days are full so you can experience the very best of the Red Centre in just six unforgettable days.
Accommodation:
The listed accommodation is a guide and may be subject to change due to availability. If substitutions are required, properties of a similar standard will be used.
While every effort is made to have rooms ready on arrival, early check-in can’t always be guaranteed. In these cases, luggage storage or shared day rooms may be available until check-in time.
In Kings Canyon, you’ll stay in simple bush tents set against the stunning George Gill Ranges. Each tent includes AC, power, lighting, and all linen. Facilities include shared bathrooms, a camp kitchen with fire pit, picnic area and swimming pool.
On the Kakadu extension camping ranges from comfortable powered sites with shared facilities to remote bush camps. Everyone is expected to lend a hand to make the experience enjoyable — this may include helping with equipment, setting up tents, preparing meals, or washing up.
Walks:
This trip includes a variety of walks ranging from easy to moderately challenging, giving you the chance to fully experience the landscapes of the Red Centre.
Distances vary from short 2–3 km walks to longer 10 km hikes, typically taking 1–4 hours depending on the terrain and pace.
The Kings Canyon Rim Walk (6 km, approx. 3–4 hours) is the most demanding — a Grade 4 walk suitable for those with good fitness — but your leader can offer shorter, easier alternatives if preferred.
Expect a mix of Grade 2–3 tracks across Uluru, Kata Tjuta, and the West MacDonnell Ranges.
On the Kakadu extension, the Ubirr Walk is a 1 km easy-to-moderate loop (around 1 hour) featuring ancient rock art and a steep 250 m climb to a lookout with stunning views.
At Leliyn (Edith Falls), enjoy a 2.6 km walk with opportunities to swim in natural pools along the way.
Sturdy, enclosed walking shoes are required for all walks within the National Parks.
