WHY MOROCCO?
A Country That Awakens Every Sense
There are destinations you visit…
Then there are destinations you feel.
Morocco is a country of extraordinary contrasts—ancient medinas and colourful souks, rugged mountains and sweeping desert landscapes, centuries-old traditions and vibrant cities filled with life.
It’s a place where you’ll wander through the blue-washed streets of Chefchaouen, lose yourself in the ancient lanes of Fes, watch the landscape transform as you journey towards the Sahara and spend a night surrounded by the silence and stars of the desert.
But what makes Morocco truly special goes beyond the places you’ll see. It’s sharing food with local families, discovering traditions passed down through generations, hearing the sounds of Gnawa music and experiencing the warmth and hospitality of the people you meet along the way.
It’s colourful, captivating, wonderfully different—and the kind of destination that stays with you long after you’ve returned home.

WHAT MAKES THIS JOURNEY SO SPECIAL?
More Than a Holiday.
A Journey Into the Heart of Morocco.
Discover a country where ancient cities, colourful medinas, dramatic mountain landscapes and the golden sands of the Sahara come together to create an unforgettable adventure. Every day reveals another side of Morocco waiting to be experienced.

Ancient Cities & Kasbahs

Sahara Desert
Ride across the golden dunes, explore by 4WD and spend an unforgettable night beneath the stars at a desert camp on the edge of the Sahara.

Authentic Moroccan Experiences
Go beyond the sights with experiences that connect you to local life—from Gnawa music and an Amazigh family lunch to cooking alongside local women in Marrakech.

BEFORE YOU BOOK (FAQ)
Everything You Need to Know
Planning your Moroccan adventure? Here are the answers to some of the questions we’re asked most often, so you can book with confidence.
Morocco is a well-established tourism destination, and you’ll be travelling as part of an organised small group with an experienced local Intrepid tour leader.
As with any international destination, conditions can change, so we recommend checking current government travel advice before departure and following the guidance of your tour leader while travelling.
Absolutely. In fact, most of our Ladies Who Travel guests join on their own.
Travelling solo doesn’t mean travelling alone. From the moment you join the group, you’ll be travelling alongside a welcoming community of like-minded women who share your love of adventure. Many of our travellers tell us the friendships they make become one of the highlights of their journey.
If you’d like to share a room, we’ll carefully match you with another Ladies Who Travel member who is also travelling solo. Prefer your own space? You’re welcome to upgrade to a private room (subject to availability and the applicable single supplement).
Whether you arrive knowing no one or bring a friend along, you’ll be warmly welcomed from day one.
You’ll need a reasonable level of mobility and fitness to enjoy this trip comfortably.
Morocco’s medinas can involve uneven surfaces, narrow streets and plenty of walking, and some accommodation may not have lifts. There are also longer travel days as we journey through the country.
Intrepid has given this itinerary a physical rating of 2/5, so it’s not considered particularly strenuous, but you should be comfortable walking and being on your feet while sightseeing.
Accommodation on this journey is comfortable, clean and well located, but it’s important to come with the right expectations.
This is an adventure through Morocco rather than a luxury tour, and accommodation can be quite simple or basic at times. Standards can also be different from what you may be accustomed to at home, so rooms, facilities and service shouldn’t always be compared with hotels of a similar rating in Australia.
That’s all part of experiencing Morocco. We believe the character of the places we stay and the experiences along the way are far more important than luxury.
There are some special stays too—including our night in a lovely desert camp in the Sahara, where tents have proper beds, en-suite bathrooms and hot showers.
If you’re looking for five-star (even 4 star) luxury throughout, this probably isn’t the right trip for you. If you’re happy with clean, comfortable accommodation and a little simplicity in exchange for an incredible Moroccan adventure, you’ll love it.
Visa and passport requirements depend on the passport you’re travelling on and can change, so it’s important to check the requirements that apply to you before departure.
Currently, travellers holding Australian, New Zealand, British, US or Canadian passports can generally visit Morocco for a short tourist stay without obtaining a visa in advance. Our journey is only 14 days, so it falls well within the usual permitted tourist stay.
Your passport must also meet Morocco’s entry requirements. Because passport-validity rules can differ depending on nationality—and may change before we travel in 2028—we recommend having at least six months’ validity remaining on your passport when you enter Morocco, as well as sufficient blank pages.
We’ll remind everyone to check the latest requirements closer to departure, but ultimately it is each traveller’s responsibility to ensure they have the correct passport, visa and entry documentation for Morocco and any countries they transit through.
March is a lovely time to experience Morocco, but because we’re travelling through very different landscapes, you should expect varied conditions.
Days can be pleasantly warm, while mornings and evenings—particularly in the mountains and Sahara—can be much cooler. Packing layers will be important.
Comfortable, practical clothing is the key to enjoying this adventure.
Comfortable walking shoes are essential, along with lightweight clothing that can be layered for cooler mornings and evenings.
Morocco is a predominantly Muslim country, so we also recommend clothing that is respectful of local customs, particularly when visiting rural communities and religious or culturally significant places.
We’ll provide more detailed packing information before departure.
We recommend travelling with one medium-sized suitcase and a small daypack.
Keeping your luggage manageable will make it easier when checking in and out of hotels and moving between destinations. Your daypack is ideal for carrying water, your camera, personal items and anything else you’ll need while sightseeing each day.
Closer to departure, we’ll provide any luggage size or weight recommendations if there are specific requirements for the tour.
Yes. Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of joining this tour.
Travel insurance provides peace of mind should the unexpected happen, including medical emergencies, cancellations, lost luggage or travel delays. We strongly recommend purchasing your policy as soon as you’ve confirmed your booking so you’re covered before you depart.
If you need assistance choosing a policy, we’re happy to point you in the right direction.
Absolutely! We can assist with flights, additional hotel stays and even extending your holiday.
Whether you’d like to arrive early, stay on after the tour, or continue exploring another destination, we’re happy to help tailor your travel plans. As a full-service travel business, we can assist with flights, accommodation, travel insurance and additional arrangements, making your entire journey as seamless as possible.
Everything you need will be available in your personal itinerary app.
Before departure, you’ll receive access to your digital itinerary, where you’ll find your daily schedule, hotel details, flight information (if booked through us), maps, important documents and other helpful travel information. It’s all conveniently stored on your phone, making it easy to access throughout your journey.
If you need assistance choosing a policy, we’re happy to point you in the right direction.
Yes! One of the best parts of travelling with Ladies Who Travel is that the friendships often begin long before the trip does.
Every tour has its own private Facebook group where you can introduce yourself, ask questions, share your excitement and get to know the other ladies travelling with you. By departure day, many of our travellers already feel like they’re meeting friends rather than strangers.
Definitely. We don’t just send you off with an itinerary—we help you prepare for the adventure.
In the lead-up to departure, we’ll hold online group catch-ups where we’ll talk through the itinerary, discuss packing, answer questions and share helpful travel tips. It’s also another wonderful opportunity to get to know your fellow travellers before the journey begins.
We’ll have a dedicated WhatsApp group for the duration of the trip.
It’s a simple way to share updates, meeting times, photos and useful information throughout the journey. It also makes it easy for everyone to stay connected, whether you’ve gone for an early morning walk, are relaxing at the hotel or simply want to share a great photo from the day.
This exclusive Ladies Who Travel departure is operated by Crooked Compass and led by their experienced English-speaking local guides, who will accompany you throughout the journey. Their deep local knowledge and passion for Romania ensure an authentic and enriching travel experience.
While Melissa won’t be travelling on this departure, you’ll still be part of an exclusive Ladies Who Travel group, giving you the opportunity to travel with like-minded women in a welcoming and supportive environment.

WHY LADIES WHO TRAVEL?
Travel With a Community That
Puts Women First
Every Ladies Who Travel journey is carefully chosen because I genuinely believe it’s an experience our community will love.
While I won’t be travelling on this departure, I’ll be with you every step of the way before you leave—helping you prepare, answering your questions and introducing you to the wonderful group of women you’ll be travelling with.
My goal has always been simple: to help women travel with confidence, make genuine friendships and discover incredible places together.

A PERSONAL NOTE
Welcome to the
Ladies Who Travel Family
When I created Ladies Who Travel, my dream wasn’t simply to organise incredible holidays. It was to create a place where women could explore the world with confidence, make genuine friendships and feel like they truly belonged.
Every journey we take together reminds me why I started this community. Watching complete strangers become lifelong friends, seeing ladies achieve travel dreams they never thought possible, and sharing unforgettable moments together is the most rewarding part of what I do.
Whether this is your very first Ladies Who Travel adventure or one of many, I’d love to welcome you along. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those journeys we’ll all be talking about for years to come.

Adventure is Better When It’s Shared
Somewhere along this journey, you’ll find yourself wandering the blue streets of Chefchaouen, getting wonderfully lost in an ancient medina, watching the sun set over the Sahara or sharing a meal and stories with women who were strangers only days before.
And that’s the part I love most about travelling with Ladies Who Travel.
The places we visit are incredible, but it’s often the people we share them with that turn a great trip into something we’ll remember forever. By the time you reach Marrakech, I have a feeling there’ll be plenty of laughter, shared stories and new friendships coming home with you too.
I hope you’ll join us.
Melissa x
